The editor

Muhammad Yaseen
Founder and editor, Karachi, Pakistan
Muhammad has always wanted to know how the gadgets in our homes actually work. He started Get Gear Lab to get past the marketing and answer the questions people really ask: what the specs mean, how much power a device draws and what it costs to run.
He writes and edits every guide on the site, and he reads every message sent through the contact page.

Our editorial standards
We cite our sources. Every guide is built from manufacturer specifications, official safety and energy data and other trusted sources, and we link them so you can check our work.
We show the math. When we estimate energy use or running costs, we include the formula and the assumptions, so you can redo it with your own numbers.
We are clear about limits. Unless a guide says otherwise, it is based on research rather than our own hands-on testing, and we never make up test results.
Safety comes first. Where heat, electricity or gas is involved, we follow official guidance and tell you when a licensed professional should take over.
Independence
No brand pays us to cover or rank its products. The site shows ads to cover its running costs, and advertisers have no say in what we write. Our Disclaimer and Privacy Policy have the details.
